Azerbaijan is taking part in the annual summit of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), held in Macau, China.
During the panel discussion titled "Leaders' Dialogue: Travel and Tourism Policies for the Future," Florian Sengstschmid highlighted Azerbaijan’s efforts toward responsible and sustainable tourism development, citing successful state projects such as the community-based tourism initiative in Basgal and the inclusion of "Cultural Landscape of Khinalig and “Köç Yolu” Transhumance Route " in UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
Additionally, Mahammad Muradov, Head of the Tourism Policy and Strategy Department at the State Tourism Agency, participated in government-level discussions focused on aligning tourism education with industry needs and fostering collaboration between universities and businesses within the PATA region.
Azerbaijan has been a member of PATA since 2019, and its annual summits serve as an international platform for addressing current challenges in the tourism industry.
